The CRKT Avant is a tidy everyday carry folding knife with enough refinement for town use and enough build strength for outdoor work. The 80.65mm (3.175 inch) plain edge blade uses 8Cr14MoV steel with a satin finish, giving it a clean cutting profile that suits general camp, pack, and utility tasks.
Opening is one of the main strengths here. The flipper works with the IKBS ball bearing pivot for a smooth, fast action, while the thumb disk gives you a more controlled manual option when you want it. Once open, the liner lock keeps the blade secure and still allows straightforward one-handed closing.
The handle brings the style without making the knife feel overdone. A black woven carbon fiber layer sits over black G10, keeping the profile slim while giving the hand something solid to hold. The bronze-style clip and pivot accents finish it off neatly.
This is a good pick when you want a folding knife that looks clean, carries easily, and still feels ready for practical outdoor use.
